Outstanding Employer of the Year 2022!

Published by Jo on 9th April 2022

We are delighted to have been recognised as Outstanding Employer of the Year an award given to an organisation that shows commitment to delivering high quality care, while engaging staff and creating a caring culture.  The award was given at the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Care and Support Awards held at Tregenna Castle in St Ives on Friday 8th of April.  The awards celebrate the achievements of the health and social care sector in Cornwall.

Jabe Norman, Operations Manager and Jude Woods, Developmental Manager from the Wheal Gerry team collected the award from judges on behalf of the whole company of 250 employees.

We were immensely proud to have been chosen as finalists in a number of categories, alongside some very inspiring individuals and organisations doing fantastic work with people with various needs in Cornwall.

Michael Lombardo

Michael Lombardo from Tresleigh was a finalist in the ‘newcomer of the year’ category.  Joining Green Light at the start of pandemic, Michael has brought his passion, natural creativity and positive outlook to the team, building strong relationships, bringing out the best in people.  Michael was accompanied by his Tresleigh colleagues Hannah Rundle and Bartek Winiecki.

The Pines team were finalists in the ‘Care Team of the Year‘ category.  Registered Manager Lewis Edwards and Deputy Lee McGreavy were accompanied by fellow Pines team members Jade Budd and Jack Madden.  The team are known and respected for the great care and support they provide, and for always going above and beyond to do so.  The team were often ahead of the curve, as new measures were brought into play during the pandemic and their learning helped other teams across the company.

Lewis & Lee

Green Light were also finalists in the Workforce Development Award Category.  Human Resource Manager, Michelle Brown and Recruitment Lead Kerry Noonan were joined by Senior Behaviour Analyst Ioanna Konstantinidou.  The team have worked closely together, with other colleagues, to adapt Green Light’s recruitment, induction and other training to operate seamlessly during the pandemic.

Thank you to all our employees and the families of people we support for their nominations.

Well done to all who were nominated, to those who were finalists and to those who received an award on the evening.  We were humbled and inspired to hear about the work you do for people in Cornwall.

Special thanks to organisers and hosts Cornwall Adult Health & Social Care and the Chaos Group and Care Friends who sponsored the Outstanding Employer award Green Light received.
