Meet the Team – Leanne Thomas
Leanne joined Green Light in 2011, during our first year in business, from a national domiciliary care provider. Since then Leanne has held, and helped to define a number of key roles, which helped establish the company and its reputation locally, and supported our growth and development since. As Operations Manager Leanne provides strategic and operational leadership support, supervision and coaching to Green Light’s Registered Managers, as they lead their teams to provide great care and support.
Q: Where are you from and where do you live now?
A: I’m from Cornwall and still living here 🙂
Q: How did you hear about Green Light ?
A: Through a friend who was on one of the first inductions at Green Light back in 2011
Q: Why did you decide to work for Green Light ?
A: I followed my friend’s recommendations and haven’t looked back since. She told me that the company was new with exciting prospects, the ethos of the organisation seemed passionate, caring and more importantly they had a clear mission statement……..it was all about people. I was hooked straight away and immediately enquired expressing my interest.
Q: What is your previous experience of autism or learning disabilities?
A: I previously worked for a National Domiciliary Care Provider
Q: Do you have any special skills/hobbies or interests?
A: Just because I spend so much time doing it….I guess shopping is both an interest and hobby (although not something to be proud of 😉 )
Q: I love getting out and being active with my little boy – seeing him explore new things and opening up his world is a real joy….when he isn’t being naughty!
Q: When not working what are you most likely to be doing?
A: Spending all of my spare time with friends and family.
Q: What do you have on your bucket list?
A: I would love to explore some new cities: Madrid, Oslo, Lisbon, Edinburgh and Stockholm are all on my bucket list. I’d also love to be able to say that I can ride a motorbike and I’d like to do a Skydive (although I’d be so nervous I’ll need pushing out of the plane.)
Q: Who is your hero or heroine & why?
A: Every one of my family and friends are all hero’s/ heroine’s in their own right. They may not fly or wear capes but they’re all strong, independent people with the most beautiful souls and noble qualities. If something needed doing or I really needed help – I’ve no doubt they would ‘fly’ right in and be my hero/ heroine (as I would do for them.)
Q: What three words sum up your personality?
A: Positive, independent, loyal
