Meet the Team – Michelle Brown
Michelle Brown joined Green Light as Human Resource Manager from the Headland Hotel & Spa in October 2020. Michelle now uses her recent Hospitality and earlier Health and Social Care experience to lead the company’s People Strategy. This aims to support and develop teams to achieve our aim; providing excellent outcomes for the people we support.
Q: Where are you from and where do you live now?
A: I was born and have lived in Cornwall all my life – I love it here!
Q: How did you hear about Green Light ?
A: On social media platforms – you have a really strong and emotive presence 🙂
Q: Why did you decide to work for Green Light ?
A: Values matter to me and I believe Green Light has a simple yet powerful and meaningful vision to aspire to.
Q: What is your previous experience of autism or learning disabilities?
A: Having worked for many years in hospitality, I have previously worked in the care sector. Although I don’t have previous experience of autism or learning disabilities, I am excited to be part of a company that works relentlessly to make a positive difference to the people in their care.
Q: Do you have any special skills/hobbies or interests?
A: I like baking and eating it 🙂 I enjoy running, SUPing, the outdoors and spending time with my family and friends.
Q: When not working what are you most likely to be doing?
A: When I’m not cooking or cleaning… I will be with family or friends doing something they and I enjoy.
Q: What do you have on your bucket list?
A: I would love to visit and explore Italy. I am very fond of Italian food – it’s one of my guilty pleasures!
Q: Who is your hero or heroine & why?
A: I have been inspired by many different individuals, to choose one hero/heroine is hard. A key influence for me has been Simon Sinek – ‘Start with Why’ and ‘Together is Better’ really resonate with me.
