Green Light is delighted to announce that Kaya McLeod has won the Registered Manager of the Year award at the Proud to Care Awards 2025! The ceremony, held at the Eden Project on Friday, September 19, 2025, celebrated the compassion and commitment of adult social care workers across Cornwall.
Kaya’s win is a testament to her dedication and leadership. Her journey with Green Light, from a support worker in 2019 to the Registered Manager of Wheal Gerry, a small residential care service of three two bedroom homes for adults with learning disabilities and autism, has been marked by a focus on person-centred care and a commitment to the growth of her team.

Before the awards, Kaya reflected on her nomination, stating, “Receiving these nominations was an unexpected and meaningful gift. It’s important to me to know that both myself and my team are trusted to provide care for people’s loved ones.” Now, with this incredible win, her humility and passion are even more evident.
Her victory is not only a personal achievement but also a reflection of the trust families place in her and her team. “These nominations wouldn’t be possible without my team at Wheal Gerry… They approach each day with dedication and genuine care,” she said.
