Meet the Team – Tommy Tangye
Tommy Tangye joined Green Light in September 2016 following successful roles as learning support practitioner; a role supporting children and young adults with Special Educational Needs & Disability to access education at a local college. Tommy completed a Level 5 Diploma in Health and Social Care and has a professional background in Health Coaching and a Degree in Sports Performance & Coaching. He and his team now support three young men with autism and learning disabilities from Springfield a home close to the popular coastal town of Perranporth.
Q: Where are you from and where do you live now?
Q: How did you hear about Green Light ?
A: I heard about Greenlight through Social Media and from friends who worked with Greenlight
Q: Why did you decide to work for Green Light ?
A: I had decided I wanted to pursue a career in care. After researching local care providers, Green Light stood out for their ethos and mission statement. In particular the word “empowering” which along with Green Light’s positive reputation influenced me to hit ‘send’ on my application!
Q: What is your previous experience of autism or learning disabilities?
A: Prior to joining Green Light, I worked within an educational setting for people with learning disabilities. This is where I found my passion of supporting individuals to achieve their personal goals and dreams.
Q: Do you have any special skills/hobbies or interests?
A: I enjoy spending time with my family, fitness (when motivated), art and exploring our beautiful coastline.
Q: When not working what are you most likely to be doing?
A: Spending time with my family or walking Rocco (my doggo)
Q: What do you have on your bucket list?
A: Learn to swim and skydive.
Q: Who is your hero or heroine & why?
A: My grandad. He was well mannered, kind, caring and projected that onto others.
