We are delighted to welcome back Joe Griffiths!

Joe originally joined Green Light in 2015, spending three years with the Comprigney Vean team, who support an individual with autism and learning disabilities from the home at the edge of Truro, before deciding to travel to Canada.  In Canada Joe became a dog trainer and met the love of his life!  – Joe is excited about returning to the Comprigney Vean team as he completes his induction training.

Q: Where are you from and where do you live now?

A: I’m from Helston but live in Penryn

Q: How did you hear about Green Light ?

A: I heard about Green Light through my best friend who at the time worked there

Q: Why did you decide to work for Green Light ?

A: I decided to join Green Light because I like what they have set out to do and I like helping people.  I left for Canada and became a dog trainer and when I came back 3 years later I decided to re-join Green Light because I still enjoy the work and what they do.

Q: What is your previous experience of autism or learning disabilities?

A: Before Green Light I had a few experiences, I have a very close family friend that I grew up with has high functioning autism, so I’ve experienced it for most of my life.

Q: Do you have any special skills/hobbies or interests?

A: Dog training for sure, it’s been one of my passions and I loved doing it out in Canada.  While out there I became one of the top rated trainers in Vancouver and was teaching about 70 dogs a week.

Q: When not working what are you most likely to be doing?

A: Currently it’s mostly keeping in touch with old students as I made friends with most of them and before I left they all wanted me to stay in touch and video chatting to my girlfriend who still lives in Vancouver until she can afford to come down here to Cornwall.

Q: What do you have on your bucket list?

A: I would honestly say I ticked off my bucket list when I went to Canada, became a dog trainer and met my amazing girlfriend.  Mostly now my bucket list is helping her get down here and get our stuff here!

Q: Who is your hero or heroine & why?

A: Not really sure honestly, I’ve never really had a hero.

Q: What three words sum up your personality?

A: Hard working, friendly and a joker
