Meet the Team – David Brown

Estate Manager David Brown joined Green Light in September 2021 from his role as Building Maintenance Surveyor for The Duchy in the Isles of Scilly.  David brings valuable and extensive experience of social housing, statutory compliance, property maintenance, building contract management, stand alone developments, responsive repairs, loss adjustment and health and safety to his new role.
Q: Where are you from and where do you live now?
A: I have recently moved from St Mary’s on the Isles of Scilly and I am now staying at St Columb Road.
Q: How did you hear about Green Light ?
A: Through the advertisement of the role. I was very keen to find out more about Green Light having looked at their social media
Q: Why did you decide to work for Green Light ?
A: From the moment I applied, I was given all the assistance I needed. All of my interactions with members of the team were friendly, efficient and unfailingly positive.
Q: What is your previous experience of autism or learning disabilities?
A: My previous experience with autism and learning disabilities was limited prior to joining Green Light, but the comprehensive induction and visiting the homes has given me some more understanding which I hope to build on.

Q: Do you have any special skills/hobbies or interests?
A: I enjoy swimming, running, reading and I am trying to learn how to paddle board (not that successfully).
Q: When not working what are you most likely to be doing?
A: I enjoy spending time with my wife and family. I enjoy walks with our golden retriever and am partial to a pub quiz.
Q: What do you have on your bucket list?
A: I would like to walk the Camino de Santiago
Q: Who is your hero or heroine & why?
A: Nelson Mandela for his grace, dignity, leadership and humanity
