Registered Manager Chris Kidd joined Green Light in January 2014 working in a number of teams.  He now leads the Big Wig and Pendragon teams who support four individuals with autism, learning disability and epilepsy in the Newquay area.  

Q: Where are you from and where do you live now?

A: I’m from Truro but live in Newquay now.

Q: How did you hear about Green Light ?

A: A friend had a position with Green Light and spoke highly of the company.

Q: Why did you decide to work for Green Light ?

A: Good company values, with a professional and friendly environment.  I had heard only positive reports.

Q: What is your previous experience of autism or learning disabilities?

A: I had previously worked at Les Amis in Jersey, Channel Islands, for 5 years in various roles from support worker, activities coordinator and driver for adults with autism and learning disabilities.

Q: Do you have any special skills/hobbies or interests?

A: Mountain biking, water sports and I’m a Newcastle United fan.

Q: When not working what are you most likely to be doing?

A: On, or in the water, in some form.  Surfing , SUPing, wakeboarding etc.  If not I’ll be on my bike riding somewhere along the coast, or in the woods.  I also enjoy live music and like to attend gigs, concerts and festivals. I also support Newcastle United football club and like to watch them when possible home or away.

Q: What do you have on your bucket list?

A: A visit to the Galapagos Islands

Q: Who is your hero or heroine & why?

A: Captain James Cook – I admire the courage and strength he had rising through the ranks of the Royal Navy to captaining his own ship, an incredible navigator, pioneer and explorer. He navigated some of the most treacherous uncharted seas, whilst mapping the world for the benefit of others, he took part in many ground-breaking early scientific expeditions as well as being an amazing military leader.  It makes me smile how the Hawaiians thought he was a fertility god and he went along with it (as you do) when he was the first European to set foot on Hawaii.
